A judge will decide whether to issue a temporary order soon after you file your protection order with the county clerk (could just be hours after filing).
These types of orders are able to be issued more quickly because they do not require notice to the adverse party.
When determining whether to issue a temporary order, a judge is looking to see if there is “good cause”—meaning there is immediate and present danger of abuse to you and/or the minor child(ren).
